Due to a new machine build order Velocity are looking to urgently recruit experienced Mechanical Fitters to work at their Newcastle site.We are looking for experienced mechanical fitters/assembly fitters with high attention to detail. You will be working within a small, highly skilled manufacturing team assembling and testing road repair machinery, so being a team player is essential.As the ideal candidate you will possess a recognised mechanical fitting qualification or be able to demonstrate valid experience and competence in mechanical fitting and assembly, also an ability to read and understand fabrication and assembly drawings and work unsupervised within a small team once you have an understanding of what is required. You will also have experience of manufacturing and processing procedures as well as fault finding and rectification skills and the ability to disassemble/reassemble mechanical equipment.Experience of small diesel/petrol engines, compressors, high volume blowers, hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous.We have a hard working but friendly team environment and are looking for positive, motivated and flexible people to join us in producing a high quality machine. The work is varied and this is a great opportunity to work on an interesting product.Basic hours of work are 0700 -1600 Monday to Friday with the opportunity of overtime.
