Job Description

Materials Planning Lead North East England, Hybrid Working Global Confectionery Businesses, Heritage BrandsAre you an ambitious materials planning professional, looking to inherit a newly created role looking to better drive a category approach to multi-site planning Have you started your career in managing supply chain teams and keen to take this to the nextlevel in one of the largest Food Groups in the UKthen read on!This Leading Confectionery Business, who are a leader within some of their market, are currently in the market for a Materials Planning Lead.The role will manage the materials planning across a key category for the business, across multiple factories, ensuring that the MRP function meets the demands of the and to ensures timely arrivals of raw materials into the factory to avoid operational downtime..Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring effective strategy and processes are in place with Raw Material suppliers
  • Co-packers, manufacturers, contract fillers to ensure adequate material is available for production plans
  • Managing inventory risk and ensure contingencies are in place
  • Plan, process and maintain appropriate levels of Raw Materials stock
  • Owning alignment with suppliers on both longer term (capacity planning with supplier) and short term (order management and stock availability)
  • Support, manage and develop Raw Materials Team into a high performing team driving added value and continuous improvements.
  • Support setting KPIs for the function leveraging Business Intelligence tools to assess ongoing performance of the team and the individuals
  • Manage Purchase Order Life Cycle for Raw Material supply from initial purchase through to delivery and receipt of the product
  • Build good work relationship with suppliers and other cross functional team members
Ideal Experience and Background Required: Leadership experience, or the desire to develop into management Experience with ERP/MRP system management Minimum of 3 years experience within an FMCG environment Proficiency in budgetary control within a manufacturing environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence at all levels of the business.
