Job Description

And you get these Red-Hot Rewards from day one!The Treasury ALM team play an important role in supporting the wider Treasury function in the management of the Groups Balance Sheet. The ALM team is in the process of delivering a major project to upgrade the functionality and capability within the AmbitFocus ALM system. This is a resource intensive project and creates the opportunity for a Manager to join the team on a secondment basis primarily to support day to day risk management responsibilities in Treasury but also provide project support as required.The ALM team has a broad remit across funding & liquidity risk, interest rate risk, ALM modelling and balance sheet management activities. The role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of ALM and balances technical knowledge with strategicviews that seek to influence and inform the trajectory of the Banks forward looking asset and liability strategy.A summary of your day-to-day responsibilities includes:
  • Assess, monitor and report on the Banks exposures to funding and liquidity, interest rate and foreign exchange risks
  • Produce and analyse a range of risk reports to meet internal and regulatory reporting requirements and support Treasury in the management of financial risks and better facilitate 1st and 2nd line review and sign off
  • Challenge methodology and ensure the most appropriate stress testing is developed and applied to meet the Banks requirements as well as any emerging regulatory requirements
  • Provide analytical insight on current and future balance sheet performance to changes in interest rates and other stress scenarios.
  • Design, develop and embed analysis which facilitates more accurate balance sheet modelling. Including analysis of how both product strategy and customer behaviour may change under differing interest rate scenarios.
  • Ensure interest rate risk is effectively transferred from the customer balance sheet into Treasury via the internal hedging process and support wider FTP analysis and approach
  • Support the end-to-end delivery of the annual ILAAP ensuring the ILAAP is delivered in line with regulatory guidance and both business SMEs and senior stakeholders are appropriately engaged to facilitate the approval process.
  • Work with customer franchises and finance business partners to agree behavioural customer assumptions under base, sensitivity and stress scenarios and to obtain consistent sources of data to support Treasury functional activities
  • Support other regulatory deliverables such as ICAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolvability Assessment Framework and ACS stress testing as required.
  • Remain abreast of industry and regulatory developments in Funding and Liquidity risk and Market risk management and measurement to ensure the Banks approach is in line with regulatory expectations.
To be successful for this role youll need to bring:
  • A proven track record of analytical capability with the role holder being required to pull together complex and often disparate information from various sources within and outside of Treasury to identify key risks and provide valued advice.
  • Strong communication skills with a need to engage with other Treasury teams, Finance, Risk and the Franchises
  • An ambitious and inquisitive mind set, a desire to learn and develop and an ability to work under pressure and adapt to change

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Treasury or related market discipline
  • Proven capabilities in Funding and Liquidity Risk management and/or Market Risk management
  • Understanding of the Groups balance sheet, customer products and behaviours
  • Understanding of the Groups risk management policies
