Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias)Newcastle Upon Tyne£28,000 to £29,000 DOE + Overtime Opportunities (Realistic OTE £34,000 to £35,000) + Holidays + Bank Holidays + PensionDAYS BASED ROLE - flexible to suit successful applicantMaintenance Technician required for a well established manufacturer who are currently experiencing a phase of growth. They offer a stable role with good training and development opportunities for the successful technician/engineer.The role would suit ANY mechanical technician, maintenance technician, mechanical fitter or mechanically biased maintenance engineer with a strong mechanical background. Applicants with basic electrical skills will have a considerable advantage. Candidates from production, manufacturing, industrial or ex-forces backgrounds will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Training will be tailored to suit the successful engineer.Working within a small but experienced maintenance team, the role will be a mixture of pre-planned and reactive maintenance within a production facility. You will also get involved with project work, installation work and machinery upgrades/continuous improvement on site. Mechanically, the role will be varied working on a range of conveyors, gearboxes, sprockets, steam boilers and pneumatics. There will be some weld and fabrication based work, applicants with TIG welding experience will have a considerable advantage.The role will suit applicants who seek the opportunity to progress their skills and gain exposure within a manufacturing environment.
