Job Description

We are delighted to be partnering with an exciting business who have received a multi-million pound investment are going through a large expansion phase which will help equip the UK to seize the economic opportunities stemming from the global transitionto clean technologies and electrification by accelerating the development of a UK based supply chain for Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD).This position is perfect for someone who enjoys the technical hands on engineering work but also someone with the ambition to grow, lead and develop a team around them.With fantastic benefits such as 42 day holiday per year and up to a 21% pension this is an extremely rare opportunity for the North East.Job Description

  • Develop specialist knowledge regarding relevant processes
  • Translate these into Design for Manufacture advice to the customer (the product design authority).
  • Develop and deliver manufacturing/assembly process, which may include working to relevant quality standards and processes, and producing the required documentary evidence.
  • Scale-up that process to meet required targets.
  • Define and deliver appropriate in-process and end of line testing.
  • Where necessary, develop documentation as required by standards. You may:
    • Analyse key customer documents such as Design Failure Modes Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and link these through to a comprehensive Process Failure Modes Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
    • Develop process Control Plans and Operator Instructions, and validating the suitability of these on the manufacturing floor.
    • Apply, document and deliver Statistical Process Control techniques where needed.
    • Maintain a Corrective and Preventative Actions process flow.
Skills Required
  • Experience of electrical (or other mechanical rotating) machine manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Familiarity with electrical machine manufacturing and test equipment, which could include magnetisers, automated mechanical assembly equipment, robots / cobots, balancers, dynamometers, environmental test equipment, and electrical integrity test instrumentation.
  • Experience of validating electrical machine technology through bench testing
  • Familiarity with CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools, and able to interpret customer drawings to identify key information.
