Job Description

Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working with large education provider based in the north east to recruit an IT Security Lead on a permanent basis. This role will be remote initially with occasional travel to their sites across the England when restrictions are lifted.The roleAs an IT Security Lead you will be required to:

  • Administer, support and maintain perimeter security appliances and security software to ensure a sufficient level of protection to all systems.
  • Lead on the implementation of processes and introduction of systems to ensure compliance with current security standards and remain Cyber Essentials Plus accredited.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary legislation and regulations.
  • Design, implement and undertake technical reviews of secure configurations for devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches and limitation and control of network ports, protocols, and services.
  • Implement devices and software to capture, analyse and record network traffic to provide a high level of visibility and immediately detect and resolve issues.
  • Lead on the configuration and deployment of new security appliances, ensuring downtime is minimised as much as possible.
    • Experience & Skills required
  • Experience of implementing and supporting perimeter security systems
  • Experience in support of one of the following systems; LAN switches, Layer 3 Switches/Routers, VPNs, WAN
  • Implementing devices and software to capture, analyse & record network traffic
  • Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, Windows)
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks including PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus and GDPR
