Operational IT Manager* Windows Desktop, Windows Server and Hyper-V* Microsoft 365 and its accompanying products and services * infrastructure technologies including Cloud solutions * windows and networks* firewalls, routers, switchesBasic Salary £35,000Location Newcastle upon Tyne - candidates residing in Jarrow , South Shields, Whitburn, Westoe , Cleadon , Gateshead, Cramlington, Blyth, Stannington, Lamesley, West Rainton, Durham, SunderlandHours 9am to 5.30pm 5 days a week in office on site parkingMiGrowth are please to be add another award winning end to end digital signage solutions provider.We are looking for an Operational IT Manager who has a pragmatic, hands on approach to both delivering IT internally within the organisation and externally to clients.Keeping up to date with the ever-changing landscape of hardware and software solutions and applying these to our solutions and processes.This role will provide an opportunity to shape and implement IT strategy. It involves engagement with internal and external stakeholders including employees, customers, suppliers and strategic partners. This is a key role within the organisation that willinfluence and support immediate IT needs and our long term vision.You will report directly to the Director team, bringing your ideas and suggestions forward. You will be given the autonomy to shape this role to match your expertise and skillset. We would encourage training opportunities and self-development.What you will be doingFor our Internal team you will be active in auditing, supporting and making improvements to the existing technical infrastructure. We currently have 15-20 internal users who have a mixture of Windows PCs, MACs and laptops. The physical infrastructure also includes multiple servers running Microsoft Windows Server (2012 - 2019)with several Hyper-V Virtual Machines running on each in order to provide File System, Active Directory and Domain Services, as well as some testing environments.We also operate a support desk for clients with three levels of support; 1st level telephone, email and self-service portal support, 2nd level remote diagnosticsand 3rd level field based engineer support. This role will assist the support desk team with incident escalations. This could be recurring faults or difficulties in diagnosing system faults, whether thisis related to the hardware, operating system, or software(s). A significant part of the role requires liaising with client IT teamsat the pre and post sales stages. You will advise them about the best way to install our solutions. This often requires digital signage software, remote managementtools and anti-virus software. You will need to complete security questionnaires, advise on PEN testing results and overcome any concerns raised.You will be responsible for the management of IT suppliers and strategic partners including our relationships with; * Microsoft * Intel * Data Centres (As per internal roles, managing hosted Windows servers) * Digital signage software platforms * Anti-virus * Remote management tools * Service desk software * Adobe* Hardware Vendors MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES* To audit and take responsibility for making improvements in the current IT architecture and infrastructure. * To take responsibility for the smooth running of all critical business IT services including email, internet and telecommunications.* To assist with the upgrade of internal and client software platforms. To oversee the installation and configuration of new and existing hardware and software. *To be responsible for budget recommendations, software renewals and to research hardware upgrades. * To take an active lead in our relationship with suppliers and partners, representing our company in a professional manner. * To assist the sales team with pre and post sales opportunities.* To assist the support desk with service escalations, software requirements and identification of trends. * To assist installation engineers in the field. * To document systems, policies and installations - although we dont have an accreditation, introducing best practice for the future. * To take responsibility of the maintenance of Office 365, Exchange and Azure platform. * To manage patching and security on internal and external * To maintain any internal hardware and software, including servers and virtual machines.Who we are looking for* You will have a strong IT background/education with experience in Windows Desktop, Windows Server and Hyper-V * * A strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and its accompanying products and services * * Broad understanding across infrastructure technologies including Cloud solutions * * A knowledge of windows and networks * * An understanding of firewalls, routers, switches * * A good understanding of computer systems and current operating systems is desirable * * Knowledge of anti-virus programs * * ITIL would be helpful, but is not essentialAll applicants send CVS to Louise Wright Director Sales & MarketingMiGrowth is an established and industry accredited Sales & Marketing Recruitment Consultancy.
