Our Newcastle office is currently recruiting for an Internal Communications Executive. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view and believe diversity drives innovation, so were building a culturewhere difference is valued.The RoleThe Internal Communications Executive is an important part of the PR and Communications team within the law firm’s Marketing and Business Development department. This individual works closely with the EMEA Director of Communications and the Internal CommunicationsManager to translate business messaging into engaging content for employees and then execute this content across a variety of engaging communications channels and programmes.This role, based in our innovative and fast-growing Newcastle Hub, reports into the Internal Communications Manager, and will work alongside the PR team, the Social Media team and the global / regional comms team.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with Communications team members, as well as lawyers and colleagues in other Business Services teams, the role covers a range of essential communications tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Internal Communications Manager in delivering internal communications advice and support to the EMEA management team and other key stakeholders across the business. This includes support for presentations, emails, Town Halls (monthly EMEA TownHall and Partner call)
  • Manage and support the delivery of an effective channel strategy, which facilitates dialogue amongst employees and the EMEA leadership and Partners.As part of this, develop and manage the various EMEA comms channels (Athena, Spotlight newsletter, Teamschannels, monthly meeting decks, plasmas etc.)
  • Support the Internal Communications Manager on EMEA news, including collection of news story leads (e.g., via marketing / comms team), follow up, writing and posting across the various channels. This includes supporting communication campaigns as they comeup
  • Act as the key EMEA contact for Athena
  • Build and maintain internal editorial calendar
  • Act as a quality control for communications, ensuring they are aligned and consistent in terms of branding and strategic message and comply with Brand / House Style
Skills and Experience Required
  • At least 2-4 years in Communications and/or PR related field
  • Proactive, action-oriented, ambitious and willing to take initiative
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent communicator with superb verbal and written skills
  • Creative and strategic thinker with an innovative mind and a “can do” attitude able to roll up sleeves and deliver results
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives across a complex business and within this context maintain relationships across all levels of the organisation and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Confident providing communications recommendations to internal clients
  • An affinity with digital media and emerging technologies that relate to communications and a willingness to innovate
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Collaborative and enjoys working as part of a high-performing and international team
  • A strong interest in learning more about professional services marketing and communications
