Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team as an Information Officer on a 30 hours per week contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive day-to-day information support to the NE FS Information Team. The main duties and responsibilities of the post holder are outlined below. The work will involve handling sensitive information, and confidentiality must be observed at all times. Hybrid working may be available, subject to line manager approval and business needs. *Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.*Working Pattern - Part Time, Job Share, Flexible Working, Hybrid Working,Responsibilities section: The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:

  • Receive data pertaining to cases referred to the unit, such as notifications, laboratory reports, investigation findings
  • Process data according to the procedures and standards for accuracy and timeliness outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Supervise junior staff to whom roles described above have been delegated.
  • Production of ad-hoc reports required to support the activities of the HPT
  • Creating data queries and data extraction
  • Participate in the design and modification of information and surveillance systems within the HPT
  • Participate in local and national audits, and contribute to the development of audit/audit standards for UKHSA NE systems
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, local and national UKHSA procedures - in particular, those relating to data storage, handing and disposal, and required standards for security of information, Caldicott and compliance with data protection legislation
  • The post holder will build and maintain effective working relationships and communicate regularly with a wide range of individuals, clinical and non-clinical, internal and external to UKHSA.
