Job Description

You will work collaboratively with senior leadersand other collaborators across the business to embed and deliver the programme initiatives, maximising the positive impact of increasing EDI across the organisation. With a focus on our values and behaviours, you will be the culture champion across all facetsof intersecting diversity. A key success factor is the ability to accelerate diversity within SSCL, improving gender balance will be a key focus along with projects and initiatives to support other key identity markers such as ethnicity, disability and sexualorientation.The role will sit within the SSCL HR team reporting to the HR Director with a dotted line to the Sopra Steria UK D&I Manager.Hybrid working, with candidates ideally located in Newport or NewcastleWhat you will be doing:

  • Supporting managers with how we assess people and make selection decisions such as recruitment, promotions, training, projects to build a more diverse workforce, challenging bias.
  • Work with managers to support them in putting into practice the learning they have received on Leading Inclusively and Recruiting for Success
  • Use the results of the annual Great Place to Work survey to highlight the areas of focus and where we need to inspire change
  • Working with the Social Value Manager and Learning & Development to develop links with schools and colleges in the communities where we operate targeting areas with lower socioeconomic status
  • Develop and propose new initiatives such as a recruitment drive aimed at under represented groups such as those with disabilities
  • Active involvement and promotion of the inclusion networks suggesting better ways to bring the networks to SSCL, increasing engagement, relevance and access
  • Support talent management activities that are aimed at promoting under represented groups such as Women in Leadership, Female and Ethnic Minority mentoring programmes
  • Support the established SSCL coaching cafes, increasing their reach, tracking progress, success stories and helping to continue to evolve the programme
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leaders on progress and aid business understanding
  • Work with SSCLs executive team as D&I advocates. Support and provide counsel to them in their roles and encourage their sponsorship of initiatives.
What youll bring:
  • Experience of working in and around EDI or Social Value
  • Tried and tested project manager experience delivering successful people / culture change programmes.
  • Exemplary organisation skills with strong presentation and reporting capability
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with bringing commercial insights
  • Credible relationship builder - builds strong partnerships with internal partners
  • Excellent communicator - able to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Fluent in business English (written and spoken) crucial
  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions that take into account the facts, goals, constraints and risks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters and display excellent judgement and initiative when required.
