Job Description

Organisation overview;Established over 30 years ago, Concern Group has grown and developed to become a leading, non-statutory and not for profit provider of mental health services. The group is made up of Mental Health Concern, Insight Healthcare and various projects and partnerships that are all focused around its mission, which is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the people it serves.Headquartered in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Concern Group Provides localised services throughout the UK and delivers contracts worth in the region of £30 million per annum, predominantly commissioned by the NHS. The Group now seeks a forward thinking Director of People to lead them onto their next stage of organisation development.The opportunity;It is an exciting time to be joining Concern Group, the organisation has developed a stable and sustainable platform from which to build. As a member of the Executive Team and trusted advisor to the CEO, the Director of People will provide strategic and operational leadership to the People function demonstrating commercial added value.Core responsibilities will include -

  • Developing a clear people strategy that will enable the organisation to realise its objectives, culture and values through a highly engaged workforce
  • Deliver a sector leading Employer Value Proposition (EVP) to attract, develop, retain and reward Talent
  • Ambassador of all people related processes, ensuring all areas of the colleague lifecycle are fully optimised
  • Coach and develop the wider leadership team, driving management capability across all levels within the organisation
  • Remote work is available, but candidates must be able to travel to Head Office in Newcastle as required The person;Concern Group are seeking an experienced, values-based leader who has a strong affinity with the Group’s core purpose and a passion for improving people’s lives. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following -
  • Strong track record of leading a successful People services team within a large, commercially orientated organisation
  • Demonstrable success in leading organisational and cultural change, with evidence of innovative and transformational thinking
  • Sound People process design, implementation and continuous improvement
  • Passion for people development and experience of implementing successful people development programmes
  • Effective interpersonal skills, a great communicator and influencer
