Job Description

My client is one of the largest Police Forces in the UK and is based in the North of England who are currently in the process of expanding their Digital Policing Team.As a result, they are hiring for a Development Manager to manage and facilitate the sections software development activities for in-house developed systems by directing, planning and prioritising work and ensuring that the requisite standards, frameworksand tooling constraints are adhered to in order to deliver an outstanding development service.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the technical delivery of large scale development projects, in line with the Project Managers specification, to meet the strategic needs of the Force
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to understand the requisite standards, frameworks and tooling constraints applied to security, data, technologies and application development and ensure that these are successfully adhered to by the developmentteam
  • Ensure that development processes and procedures are fully documented and understood by the Development Team to deliver an outstanding service
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience of leading a software development team
  • Strong experience in RESTful Web Services, MVC frameworks, Apache Tomcat, Javascript, HTML and CSS for user interface development, XML and JSON for data exchange and Oracle Databases
  • Solid technical skills and experience in the full Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Extensive commercial experience in Java development language
This is a hybrid role that will involve working both remotely and at various locations in Newcastle.In return, my client is offering a salary of up to £51,308 and a generous pension scheme.
