With Commercial arrangements in excess of £20m the role holder will play a key role in a small commercial team, supporting the Supplier and Contract Relationship Manager in the delivery of end to end procurement activities. If successful, duties include:-Manage a range of specific Corporate Services contracts (e.g. Travel, Hotel, Contingent Labour, GPC).-Support the running of tenders for medium level requirements (up to £100k) through to contract award in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 ensuring the organisation works within the legal, regulatory and policy constraints associated with being a public body for all procurement activity within area of responsibility-Support the delivery of projects, procurements and supplier management across the full commercial life cycle within area of responsibility, providing functional input to improve ways of working and vfm.-Provide day to day advice on commercial issues and governance across area of responsibility, taking full account of risk, exploiting commercial opportunities and maximising value of money and savings-Monitor and report on the procurement pipeline to ensure effective re-tendering planning and support the development and maintenance of the organisation commercial strategies-Support development and delivery of procurement strategies and contractmanagement plans for a range of procurement requirements across all business areas-Provide general and system processing support across the Purchasing function as requiredSuccessful candidates will demonstrate:-CIPS part-qualified (or working towards), or 2 years equivalent relevant experience-Experience of delivering commercial advice to a range of stakeholders-Experience of partnering stakeholders who hold diverse commercial requirements-Strong communication skills consulting with a wide range of people, in writing, over the phone and in groups.-Analytical skills to interpret information and assess compliance with business governance and policy-Ability to engage and influence with a range of internal/external stakeholders.-Ability to plan, prioritise and control workload to delivering results to agreed timescales.This is a full time, temporary position, initially until the end of March.
