Job Description

Commercial Finance Manager | Cleantech Start-Up | NewcastleThe ClientHarmonic are excited to be working on an exclusive basis with a cutting edge technology start-up based in Newcastle. Through being a leader in the fields of cleantech and circular economy this business has fostered partnerships with some of the most well-known brands in the industry and following some major investments, the business now aims to expand rapidly, opening international offices this year and expecting growth over 200%.The company boasts vibrant office space in Newcastle city centre as well as an open, informal culture. Their team is growing fast and is headed up by some of the industrys leading experts, including their CEO who has built and exited multiple businesses in the past so is no stranger to growth!The opportunities to progress here will be endless evidenced by several existing case studies of meteoric climbs to the top by early joiners.The RoleYou will report directly to the CEO and you will be responsible for the provision of financial information, analysis, and advice to the Senior Management Team, and for the day-to-day operations of the Finance function.Initially you will be involved in evaluating the companys needs and implementing new financial management policies, processes, and systems across the business.Duties

  • Monthly Management Accounts.
  • Preparation of Board finance pack and monthly management reporting.
  • Supporting the Directors at quarterly Board Meetings.
  • Involvement in fundraising activities.
  • Annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and financial modelling.
  • Statutory reporting.
  • Managing credit control, payroll, VAT, cashflow management, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Process implementation and improvement.
  • Providing reports and metrics on grant funded R&D projects.
  • Cash-flow management and forecasting.
  • Liaising with Company Accountants.
  • Liaising with senior management team to prepare and report on annual budgets.
  • Ad hoc financial support to staff across the business.
    • What we need to see (essential)
  • ACCA or CIMA Qualified.
  • Strong financial reporting and analysis skills.
  • Experience managing cashflow, credit control, payroll, VAT, AP, and AR.
  • Experience in set up of business controls and processes.
  • Experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
  • High self-drive and initiative.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Effective and clear communicator.
  • Strong organisational skills.
    • What we would like to see (bonus)
  • Project finance/lease finance experience.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Experience with
  • a product and/or project focused manufacturing or construction company product/project costing, cost tracking, invoicing, purchase order processing, expense/bill processing, payroll processing etc.
