Job Description

Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals is looking for a Clinical Technologist or Senior Radiographer to join our multidisciplinary team providing a comprehensive Nuclear Medicine service to the people of Newcastle Upon Tyne and Northumberland. The post will be mainly based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) where you will have daily patient contact delivering high quality services.The Nuclear Medicine & Bone Densitometry Department is part of the Radiology Directorate. We operate in two major hospitals, Freeman Hospital and RVI and carry out around 18,000 procedures per year across site. The department at RVI has close links with the Great North Childrens Hospital. Facilities on site include a dual head gamma cameras and a SPECT CT system; as a service we provide a wide variety of diagnostic imaging, non-imaging procedures and therapeutic services.The successful applicant would be expected to rotate through all aspects of Nuclear Medicine including radiopharmacy, blood labelling procedures, administration to patients, imaging and radioactive therapy administration. You will work alongside other healthcare professionals including scientists, nurses, clerical staff and doctors to provide the very best patient care in our busy department. As well as caring for patients, you will be required to maintain CPD.
