Job Description

CompanyNigel Wright recruitment is delighted to be supporting a high growth technology, manufacturing and design focussed organisation developing tailored solutions for customers across service and industrial sectors, in the recruitment of a Business Development Manager.RoleThis is fantastic opportunity to work in a design led, technology driven organisation, where you have the opportunity to identify and support customers who are looking to take their products from concept, through design, prototype, batch build and into volumemanufacturing.

  • The BDM will be responsible for identifying new customers and developing opportunities with a focus on target leads,managing a sales cycle through to receipt of order, at which point theaccount management teamwill take over the customer relationship.
  • Taking a consultative approach listening to customers issues, working internally with R&D, engineering and manufacturing teamsto developrelevant solutions, able to work through the key phases, managing the customer relationship and internal relationshipsthrough the commercial needs assessment, technology exploration, design and manufacturing stages.
  • Use a structured sales and account planning process to qualify each opportunity, working towards improving the win ratio.
  • Represent the organisation at key industry events across the UK and Europe.
  • Market and customer research to understand drivers for innovation
Experience
  • Approach to selling is the key factor for this role and a real passion for new technology. Candidates must understand how to identify opportunities and navigate technical sales, grasping the concept of solution based selling.
  • There is a need to hit the ground running, ideal candidates will beself starters with good visionand comfortable workingin a target driven role.
  • Excellent internal stakeholder management / influencing skills are essential.
  • Creative thinker who can spot market opportunities
  • Consultative approach to selling, tenacious with the ability to read customers and build relationships.
  • Open on sector background,candidates could come from manufacturing, consultancy ortechnology.
  • Team player
  • Proven strategic and analytical thinking skills that have delivered and successfully developedclient relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial approach with the ability and desire to identify and pursue innovative ideas.
  • Whilst there is a hybrid working model, candidates must be commutable to the site in Blyth with the flexibility to travel to customers and events on a regular basis.
