Turnitin is headquartered in Oakland, California with international offices in the UK, the Netherlands, South Korea and Australia.Job DescriptionThis role is responsible for governing commercial contracts, primarily for SaaS products served from the United States licensed by non-US educational and government institutions, supporting the sales cycle, giving advice and guidance which enables operational effectiveness for both our Direct and Indirect sales channels.

  • Work with multiple department leaders to address business, financial, insurance and legal terms in contracts with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Review local contracts and commercial agreements to understand risks consequences and impacts - escalating where applicable after full consideration for sign-off on risks.
  • Draft and process contract extensions and addenda as required.
  • Provide governance on contract approval and execution to ensure deals are closed appropriately.
  • Interact with Internal Finance and relevant professional services to ensure the proper treatment of special financial arrangements particular to different trading countries
  • Support the sales team in Tenders/RFP processes, particularly regarding contractual responses, data privacy and risk assessment. Partner with local Sales Directors on bid decisions.
  • Train sales and support staff on common legal questions.
  • Work with US-based Contracts Manager to distribute contract templates to EU staff.
  • Qualifications
  • Graduate BA/BSc in related field (LLM desirable)
  • Sound operational knowledge of the regulatory requirements in relation to accountancy and legal parameters in play within the EU and International markets.
  • Commercial contract management / negotiation experience ideally in a SaaS environment
  • Data Privacy/Data Transfer expertise
  • Tender preparation expertise

  • Previous experience of working with US parent company
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification
  • Corporate governance experience
