You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand Inreturn, you will receive a competitive salary of £25,901 to £31,656 per annum.This is a remote role located in the North East and would ideally suit someone located along the A1 due to the locations of our site visits.Who we are: Here at the Coal Authority, we really are a great team to work with. We are inclusive, trusted and progressive in everything that we do.About the Assistant Regional Project Manager role: Do you want to be recognised as a leading expert in the Public Safety & Subsidence sector If so, this is your chance to be part of a team providing expert advice and creative solutions to manage public safety and environmental issues associated with coaland metal mining.As ourAssistant Regional Project Manager,you willadminister a portfolio of hazard, enquiry and subsidence projects in the North East region and other regions as required.Key responsibilities of our Assistant Regional Project Manager:

  • Assisting in the management of coal mining subsidence damage claims and coal mining surface hazard projects within defined statutory and internal frameworks
  • Ensuringthat your portfolio of projects is adequately progressed and resourced, and that your customers are effectively managed
  • Assisting and showing that adequate investigations are carried out to determine the Authoritys liability
  • Assisting and supervisingcontractors and consultants undertaking research, investigations and remediation
  • Assisting and undertakingfield related tasks as required which may include the inspections of properties, borehole inspections, liability sites, undertaking monitoring and sampling
  • Assisting in the compilation of evidence and submissions in respect of any claims that may be referred to arbitration/lands tribunal.
  • Acting as a public interface, representing the Authority and dealing with live enquiries from members of the public, and other relevant parties.
  • Undertaking desk top assessment of claims/incidents using the Corporate Browser for such things as shafts, outcrops, shallow and deep mine locations, faults, etc.
  • Assisting project managers in the delivery of projects to time and budget
  • Being part of the response team to deal with calls to the Authoritys emergency hazard line
About our Assistant Regional Project Manager:
  • Undergraduate degree or working towards (2:2 or better) in an Earth Science subject or Engineering or appropriate discipline or able to demonstrate suitable experience for the role
  • Experience in managing contractors
  • A willingness to develop & make use of commercial acumen
  • Due to the locations of our sites a full driving license is essential
