Job Description

Join Our Creative Team in Newcastle!Are you a passionate and adaptable Art Teacher ready to inspire young minds in Newcastle GSL Education is seeking a dynamic individual to work with our client school in Newcastle, starting immediately. If youre dedicated to delivering engaging art educationand helping students achieve academic excellence, we want to hear from you!Responsibilities:As an Art and Design Teacher, your role will encompass:

  • Lesson Planning: Create captivating lessons in art and art history that align with students learning goals.
  • Classroom Preparation: Organize and set up equipment to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Skill Development: Nurture students drawing, coloring, and painting techniques, including instruction on various media such as graphite, charcoal, oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
  • Art History: Introduce students to the fascinating world of art history.
  • Assessment: Assign and evaluate projects and examinations.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain records and report on students progress.
  • Classroom Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness after each lesson.
  • Resource Management: Manage inventory and procure art supplies as needed.
  • Engagement: Participate in faculty and parent-teacher meetings.
Requirements:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • Valid UK teaching qualification: PGCE with QTS (Qualified teacher status) or QTLS.
  • NQTs, Overseas Trained Teachers with UK work rights, and experienced Instructors are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelors degree in fine arts with teaching qualifications or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an art teacher.
  • Proficiency in various art techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to oversee group activities.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Supportive and adaptable nature.
  • Possession of a Child-Only Enhanced DBS on the Update service or willingness to obtain one through GSL Education.
  • A fully checkable work history.
