Action for ChildrenSalary - £10.00 an hour Contract/Hours: Permanent - Part Time -12.75 hours a week. Term Time only. Hours are 4pm to 7pm. There will team meetings and file time that will encompass the 45 minutes. We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives.About the Role:Chestnut Lodge is a 5 bed short breaks childrens home, providing short breaks to children and their families aged 8 to 18 years of age. The service supports children and young people who have various disabilities, where they can come and stay and have funwhile their families have a break.This home runs mid-week after school clubs and hasresidential services that runs in the main at weekends and during school holidays. Young people get the opportunity to relax, have trips out and learn new skills while they are with us.In the role of Young Persons Worker, it will be your responsibility to provide a high -quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.As a Young Persons Worker :You will make a difference by:-Delivering interventions to children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, with appropriate direction.-Maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues and with children, young people and families and where necessary encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes-Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers of concerns in line with safeguarding policies and procedures-Retaining accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems to capture case details, outputs and outcomes as necessary and to produce written reports and present these as necessary.-Ensuringfamiliarity and compliance with relevant Action for Children policies and proceduresYou will need:-Experience of working in a health, early years or social care setting.-SVQ level 2 Health & Social carequalification or equivalent-Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.-Ability to engage and work with children, young people and their families, demonstrating a range of communication skills.-Experience of preparing, organising, reviewing and delivering individual and or group work.-To demonstratecommitment to personal development and undertaking relevant training.-Ability to effectively utilise Microsoft Outlook and other IT packages.Working here is so much more than a job.
