Product Designer Permanent£22k - £24k DOENear Newcastle-Under-LymePurpose; To design shopfitting solutions in coordination with the manufacturing capabilities of our client and suppliers. Responsibilities; * Design. Use Solidworks to develop functional products, and prepare them for manufacturing * Creative. Interpret the items functionality, the clients desire, and submit options to choose from * Costing. Use machines timings and company costing sheets to determine budget prices * Tenders. Interpret clients drawings to determine efficient manufacturing costing for price submissions * Understanding of manufacturing. Remain involved with manufacturing capabilities growth so to capitalise on our strengths * Control of the database. The 3d, dxf, pdf drawings will need to remain safely stores and accessible * Coding in coordination with group colleagues in Italy. New products will be coded in coordination with the rest of the group * BOM. Bill of materials will be produced and inputed in the companys ERP/MRP software * Quality control requirements specs. New product will need a quality test sheet for appropriate manufacturing * Rollouts coordination: from request, to design submission, to costing, to manufacturing control, to submit installation manuals * Prepare installation manuals. Visual explanations of how products are assembled together * Products demonstrations. Products can either be installed in the showroom and pictured/videoed to share with the client, or they will be brought by the designer to the client, assembled and explained. * Clients visits. Meeting clients, especially onsite, is important to understand the clients needs better, in coordination with the store environment and the direction the client wants to take * Positively representing the company to the highest possible standard to customers and members of the public. * Contribute to and support the company goals * Manage Priorities.
