Job Description

LECTURER IN VOCATIONAL SPORTFull timeLocation: Newcastle under Lyme CollegeSalary: £24,621 - £34,942In November 2019 Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) became the first further education provider in England to achieve outstanding grades in every area of Ofsteds recently reformed Education Inspection Framework (EIF).The inspection report praised all areas of the Colleges provision and acknowledged NSCGs positive, stimulating and safe learning environment, highly motivated staff, and learners exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.We are looking for an individual with the ability to deliver Vocational Sport and Fitness provision, you will be an inspiring lecturer who is gifted in delivering varied and imaginative sessions and will have a record of good retention and success rates.The post may also include some teaching based at an outreach centre in the Crewe/Alsager area.To be successful you will be enthusiastic and suitably qualified with the experience and ability to deliver high quality teaching on our range of Sport programmes including Level 2 BTEC in Sport, Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, Level 3 BTEC ExtendedDiploma in Sport Science and some of our adult PT courses in Fitness. This may require weekend/evening work. Ideally you will also have experience of teaching on the Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/D) in Sport.As well as your relevant industrial experience and current knowledge, you will have an appropriate subject qualification in Sport or Sport Science to degree or equivalent.
