Job Description

Are you looking for a full time & permanent position.We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced,reliable and professional HGV driver with a minimum of 2 years road experience. It would be preferable, but not essential, to hold a forklift truck licence as you willbe required to assist in the Warehouse as and when necessary.You will be required to work Monday to Friday (No weekend working) - There will be occasional (Nights out) when trunking so full flexibility I required.An attractive salary of up to £32000.00 + pension and many benefits awaitsDuties will include;

  • Driving category C/C+E vehicles safely, legally and efficiently as required whilst complying with all drivers hours and the Road Transport Directive legislation
  • Loading and unloading vehicle (PPT) and always maintain safety and security of load
  • Carrying out all necessary checks to ensure the vehicle meets all safety and legal requirements
  • Completing all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (include any electronic devices that might be used, scanners, hand held POD etc)
  • Informing the branch on any issues around load planning and routing
  • Complying with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times
  • Assisting warehouse duties as and when required
  • Acting as company ambassador when dealing with customers.
  • Nights out will be required, Must be able to cover 4 nights away when required. (night out will be paid separately)
The ideal candidate will have/be;
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries and collections
  • A good understanding of working time directive and EU driving rules and regulations
  • Confidence to develop good relationships with clients, colleagues and external bodies
  • Excellent customer focus to internal customers and external
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritise customer needs
  • Well-spoken, polite, pleasant and confident manner
  • Flexible approach to work hours
Level of Qualifications;
  • Current up to date CPC (Minimum 3 units, Training will be provided after 6 months if required)
  • Practical driving experience
  • Valid driving licence (maximum 6 points - No DR10/DD10) - Category C
  • FLT Counterbalance licence (desirable)
  • Moffett licence (desirable)
