Job Description

GROUP HEAD OF PROJECTSLocation: Newcastle-under-LymeSalary:£43,307 to £48,164 (C £45k-£50k with cost of living increase) dependent on skills and experienceHours:37 hours per week, full yearIn November 2019 Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) became the first further education provider in England to achieve outstanding grades in every area of Ofsteds recently reformed Education Inspection Framework (EIF). We are one of only 3 providersin England to achieve an outstanding grade for apprenticeships delivery under the Ofsteds new inspection framework - in fact were outstanding in every inspection area.The inspection report praised all areas of the Colleges provision and acknowledged NSCGs positive, stimulating and safe learning environment, highly motivated staff, and learners exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.At present, we are investing c£25 million in a new Technology & Engineering facility at our Stafford site, opening September 2023. We are also leading the development of the forthcoming Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology (IoT), a collaborativeproject also including Keele University and Burton & South Derbyshire College. This includes the further investment of around £20 million in the flagship IoT Hub, also to be based at Stafford.This post will successfully apply for and lead range of curriculum-focussed projects to support help drive and embed innovation across our College. To be successful in this post you, should have significant experience of delivering high quality curriculum,working with a range of stakeholders and a proven ability to successfully deliver successful projects. The role will focus initially on three main projects: Strategic Development Fund; Institute of Technology and Lego Education Innovation Studio. It is anticipatedthat the post-holder will combine a creative, inspirational approach to developing and securing funding for new projects with a pragmatic, delivery-focussed approach to ensure successful delivery of projects and the embedding of new practices within NSCG.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and contribute to applications for projects and activities that align with NSCGs strategic direction, including collaborative projects where appropriate.
  • Manage the successful delivery of a number of projects as agreed with the Director of IoT and Employer Partnerships.
  • Develop delivery plans, project milestones and impact measures for the agreed projects.
  • Liaise with internal/external colleagues and partners to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with administrative arrangements.
  • Liaise with funding organisations and relevant organisations to ensure projects meet performance and administrative requirements.
  • Put in place and implement appropriate monitoring, evidence and evaluation arrangements for each project.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Holds an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Has relevant curriculum focused project management experience.
  • Is able to communicate effectively with colleagues, employers and other parties and can act as a credible and enthusiastic advocate for the College externally.
  • Is creative in developing innovative projects that can deliver tangible improvements to benefit students with both internal and external stakeholders;
