Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Control Tower Administrator, based in Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 9JQ. They are looking for four new starters! This a full-time temporary ongoing opportunity. They operate on a two-shift rota, 07.30am to 16.00pm and 11.30am to 20.00pm, 42 hours per week. Paying £24,164.42 per annum / £11.06 per hour. The opportunityTo provide transport scheduling and inventory services by planning and implementing agreed strategies and procedures related to the control tower operation. Ensure improvement in scheduled service and performance whilst managing control tower costs and providingexcellent customer service across operation. The role holder will be accountable for ensuring adherence to standards and regulatory controls. Knowledge of Transport planning and software application ideal.Key accountabilities:

  • Deliver Quality work, concentrating on data accuracy and completion within a timely manner
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all process streams within control tower and aim to be cross-flexed in all
  • Planning of accepted work in a completely dynamic environment
  • Scheduling drivers to complete call requirements from engineers on a daily and dynamic basis
  • Inbound/outbound calling & liaising with drivers and operational field customers
  • Apply customer excellence techniques to handle all customer calls and provide a first call resolution, ensuring resolution of queries/complaints
  • Liaise with various stakeholders
  • Completion of scheduled work

  • Production of reports
  • Prepares statistical and management information to assist in the delivery of Customer Performance objectives
  • Actively contribute towards continuous improvements
  • Participation in shared team learning reviews and other continuous improvement forums to ensure that we are constantly improving the level of service we provide
  • Ownership of their own technical and development plan.
About you
  • Knowledge of Transport planning and software application i.e. Microlise, Microsoft Office or equivalent would be helpful although not essential
  • Understand how the scheduling and inventory processings impact on the wider department
  • Able to plan their own workload and balance conflicting priorities with minimal real time supervision
  • A strong team player who is capable of building and maintaining working relationships inside and outside their team
  • Effective communication techniques, by both telephone or email
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service and can demonstrate a strong customer focus and can actively listen to customers
  • Has the confidence and capability to deal with many and varied sets of customer circumstances and advise the operation on a range of options that apply to their situation
  • Able to use appropriate questioning to identify exact operational needs and explain what is involved in the process and or their chosen option
  • Business software experience - SAP SD, SAP CRM, web and telephony IT systems and Microsoft applications.
