Technical Services Scientist/Engineer - Saint Gobain FormulaNewark, NottinghamshireAre you passionate about putting the customer at the heart of everything you doDo you thrive on delivering customer satisfaction through product development & improvement while being innovativeAt our manufacturing facility in Newark, we are looking for a Technical Services Scientist/Engineer to join a small team to help deliver new product developments and product improvements across our gypsum plaster range as well as providing an unrivalledtechnical service to our customers. Our industrial gypsum and plaster products are used in a variety of applications such as construction products, dental products, food and animal feed products, fertilisers, agriculture, and the ceramics industry.You will play a key role in ensuring we meet the true needs of our customers now and in the future by gaining a thorough understanding of their needs, their challenges, and what outcomes they desire when using our products.Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will be part of a team working on projects that include product development, improvement, characterisation, testing, and manufacturing trials. You will collaborate closely with all functions in Formula (Marketing,Sales, Operations, Process, Quality Control, etc.), as well as other technical service teams across Europe and Asia, to deliver these key strategic projects. Your other key touch points will be with customers, suppliers, and external testing/certificationbodies.You will be developing and applying your skills in laboratory based physical and chemical analysis testing of materials, data analysis and turning these results into information and knowledge. Decisions and actions will be driven by this knowledge that hasbeen gained and captured.This is a fantastic opportunity for a curious individual who is keen to develop themselves and explore new working techniques and methods. Formulacurrently operates from 8 global manufacturing sites, supplying over 80 countries across all 5 continents.This is a full-time position based at our Newark facility with some travel across the UK to meet with customers and potentially occasional international travel opportunities.What were looking for:

• Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in an experimental discipline, such as Chemistry, Material Science, Process/Chemical Engineering or similar.
• Experience working in a laboratory based environment.
• Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Thorough and detail driven work ethic.
• A desire for self-improvement and learning in new working techniques, methods, and processes.
