Job Description

Job Title: Marketing and Communications OfficerLocation: Newark, NottinghamshireSalary: OTE £22,000 - £24,000Hours: Full Time, PermanentClosing Date: 11th JuneThe Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society (NNAS) is a registered Charity whose primary objective is to support, champion and promote agriculture throughout Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands region.This is delivered by improving awareness, educating the public, academic and practical support programmes and by organising and delivering agricultural and rural events including the Nottinghamshire County Show (B2C), the Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show (B2C - heritage and enthusiast) and the Midlands Machinery Show (B2B - trade).About the roleNNAS is now seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer with a marketing degree who will have worked for at least 1 year or have gained extensive marketing work experience throughout their studies.This is an exciting and varied role within the Society and will help to bring the Societys work to a wider audience in compelling ways to develop and increase the awareness, promotion and impact of the Societys profile and its charitable purpose.The role will encompass marketing and communications using digital platforms to communicate with a wide range of audiences ultimately to increase uptake in membership, event sales, sponsorship opportunities and wider engagement from volunteers and local communities. The role will support all marketing functions of the Society including developing marketing plans and delivering marketing campaigns for all three Shows and have an active role in co-ordinating the Education Grant Scheme and Agricultural Apprentice Awards.There will be extensive marketing campaign management both print and online, content writing, email marketing, website management and social media management along with providing support for other marketing projects as they evolve. The role holder will measure and monitor campaign success and measure analytics and developing strategies to increase engagement across all communication platforms.About you:The successful applicant will have excellent spoken and written English, an eye for design and visuals, a strong understanding of digital tools and techniques and the ability to proactively manage multiple priorities. The role has scope for the successful candidate to truly make their mark and be provided with the opportunity to work and grow as part of a dynamic team and working environment.Ideally you will:

  • Have graduated with a marketing based degree and gained either extensive work experience or worked in marketing for at least 1 year.
  • Have a good understanding and interest in agriculture, rural living, shows and events.
  • To have experience, enthusiasm and flair for all aspects of digital marketing including content creation, copywriting, email marketing, social media management, SEO, website management, Google Analytics and working with photos.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and writing skills.
  • To be able to communicate well with clients and colleagues and build rapport.
  • Highly organised, resilient, determined and able to work under pressure.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attentional to detail.
