Job Description

Head Housekeeper JobOur client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to take on a Head Housekeeper role at a Country House near Newark which is used as a Wedding and Events venue. You will be responsible for the management of the cleanliness and tidiness throughout property, leading a small team to ensure all staterooms, bedrooms, and back of house areas are immaculate.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Drawing up quarterly staff rotas with at least one-month confirmation for staff in advance
  • Managing the operation of set-up and breakdown for weddings and other events based on Function Sheets
  • Implementing new systems and procedures to ensure the team is operating in the most effective way
  • Making sure staff wear the appropriate uniform, have had all relevant training and behave professionally at all times
  • Monitoring stock and replenishing/ purchasing items to fulfill the operation of the team
  • Managing all housekeeping suppliers
  • Carrying out regular room checks to ensure the Country House retains a high standard
  • Reporting any necessary concerns, repairs or replacements to the FM
  • Managing and undertaking the following cleaning duties:
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
  • Cleaning bathrooms including sanitising toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen area
  • Making beds and changing linens
  • Washing windows
  • Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs
  • Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors
  • Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry
  • Ironing clothing items
  • Using any cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other cleaning tools
  • Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces
  • Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
  • Steaming and cleaning draperies
  • Washing blinds/ shutters
  • Tidying up rooms
  • Replenishing the rooms with toiletries and refreshments
  • Cleaning the Events office on a weekly basis
  • Cleaning the upstairs office toilet on a weekly basis
  • Doing Check-in and Check-out, together with other Event support on an ad hoc basis
  • Additional ad hoc duties requested by the FM
  • Experience
  • Housekeeping experience at supervisory level and above
  • Excellent people management skills
  • A welcoming, friendly and outgoing manner and with the passion and ambition to develop and motivate your team
  • A high level of attention to detail and demonstrate high levels of quality
  • A hands-on approach needed - to support the housekeeping team
  • Flexible working hours, including weekends depending on business needs.
  • Full-time hours: 40 per week (Includes working Saturday and Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday off)Start asapSalary: £20,000.00-£22,000.00 per year Required skills
