Job Description

Events Manager Job nr Newark NottinghamshireOur client is currently seeking an experienced Weddings and Events Manager to join their events as a permanent team member. The role has become available as the team is expanding, due to the recent business growth. You will join a team for four Weddings and Events Managers and Co-ordinators.This is a fun but extremely fast-paced wedding and events environment, where hard work and being a team player is an essential requirement for the role. Following an extensive refurbishment program in 2020, the opportunity has arisen for a new Events Manager to be responsible for managing some of the weddings and events held at the venue.The property is available for exclusive private use and is predominantly booked for weddings, private parties, corporate events, short stays, and photoshoots. They are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual to join the team and carry out the following duties:The Role:

  • Demonstrate to new and current clients that they are the ideal venue for weddings, corporate and private events
  • Ability to deliver over 120 weddings/ events per year to a high standard
  • Take a lead on weddings/ events and manage a small team
  • Maximise all sales opportunities and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings
  • Professionally respond to customer enquires via email, telephone or face to face contact
  • Manage confirmed bookings and obtaining final details
  • Communicate event details for all events to all the relevant teams and produce clear function sheets.
  • Prepare accurate client invoices in a timely manner pre and post-event
  • To provide a high level of standards and customer care, ensuring all inquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively in line with office procedures
  • Working as a part of a team to achieve sales and revenue targets
  • Working regular weekends and evenings to meet the need of the business
  • Promote the facilities to prospective external clients by demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the products on offer
  • Generate leads by networking existing accounts, both current and lapsed, to develop new business
  • Essential Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the weddings industry
  • Used to handling a high volume of inquiries and dealing with these in a timely and professional manner
  • Passionate about exceeding customer expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high standard of both verbal and written English
  • Smart, presentable and courteous with a welcoming personality
  • Organized, able to multitask and show initiative with an eye for detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Relevant degree in hospitality/ events
  • Full-time - 40 hours per week (5 days taking Tuesday & Wednesday off)Salary: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 gross per annumStart: Mid May 2021 Required skills
