Job Description

Community FundraiserPart time, permanent, Based in Newark and Mansfield (potential hybrid home-working)£25,155 (pro-rata), 25-35 hours per weekOur locally based client is looking for a Community Fundraiser to join their team to build a diverse range of relationships within the community in Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire to maximise income and support. THE ROLE As a Community Fundraiser you will build a diverse range of relationships within the community in Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire to maximise income and support. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining valuable relationshipswith individuals, groups and organisations, developing new opportunities and maximising engagement in existing products. Your key duties will include:

  • Support and encourage the charitys existing and new community fundraisers with organising their own third party fundraising events/activities
  • Research and develop new areas of community fundraising with an emphasis on expansion in the Mansfield area
  • Attending fundraising events (potentially involving weekend and evening work)
  • Assist with recruitment, training and co-ordination of volunteers
  • Ensure health and safety at fundraising events and ensure all fundraising advice meets the necessary legal requirements
  • Plan and monitor the allocation of the the budget in conjunction with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager and achieve agreed income and return on investment targets
  • Effectively respond to enquiries and acknowledge donations appropriately
  • Record data accurately using E. Tap, the charity’s CRM system and online fundraising platforms as applicable. Training will be given
  • Produce timely reports and maintain up to date and accurate paper and electronic files on all donors in accordance with the Data Protection Act
  • Support the Fundraising Manager in devising and implementing a communications plan to promote community fundraising initiatives, working closely with the Marketing Executive
  • Engage supporters to gather images from community events and work with the Marketing Executive to follow up potential PR opportunities with local media and other relevant organisations
  • Contribute engaging and impactful content for Children’s Bereavement Centre communications channels and for the creation of fundraising materials and resources
  • Ensure open and clear lines of communication between the post holder and all other staff and attend staff meetings when required
  • Participate in service training activities and maintain up to date knowledge of the Children’s Bereavement Centre’s service policies and procedures
THE CANDIDATE The ideal Community Fundraiser will have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders verbally and in writing. As well as:
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a professional fundraiser or equivalent experience in a relevant role
  • Knowledge of donor management and customer care principles as well as a history of meeting targets
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, internet use and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivated person who can work unsupervised whilst also being a team player
  • Ability to self-organise, prioritise, meet deadlines, work under pressure and analyse problems to develop solutions
  • Possession of a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle during working time
  • Reliable internet connection at home for effective remote working
  • Knowledge of the region and of local fundraising opportunities, as well as, record of organising events
  • Would be advantageous to have a fundraising qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant regulatory frameworks; Institute of Fundraising Codes of Conduct, Data protection legislation, Lotteries & - Licensing legal and financial aspects, Fundraising Regulator guidelines and/or Gift Aid regulations
