An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation - our global FMCG client (the powerhouse behind brands such as Persil, Surf, Comfort, Domestos and Cif) have an opening for a Bioscientist to be based at our clientsprestigious Research & Development Facility in Port Sunlight, Wirral.This is a full time, temporary role to last until the end of October 2023, paying up to £33,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. Main Purpose of the RoleThis position will be part of a team of bioscientists and will support projects in their Oral Care, Deodorant and Hair Care categories.We are looking for the role holder to bring significant experience in the area of cell and molecular biology and general biochemical research to develop strategies to modify or manipulate the properties of the biological system under investigation.The role holder will build effective relationships with different groups within R&D to ensure that robust, relevant insights and technologies are developed and delivered to our clients innovation funnel.We work in multi-disciplinary project teams where everybody contributes to achieving the same goal, so were looking for excellent people skills (especially team working), and communication skills.You should be able to demonstrate that you can work on your own initiative, and that you continually develop your scientific skills. A proven track record of delivery within an academic or industrial environment is preferable, as well as evidence of gooddecision-making and of delivering effectively to deadlines.Key Accountabilities

• Work at the bench and use your experience in cell and molecular biology to deliver substrate-based insights for the development of new technologies
• Contribute to internal bioscience capability build
• Contribute to the implementation of the patent strategy
• Provide intellectual input and generate hypotheses/ make recommendations to the Team Leader to progress the programme
• Develop and maintain strong links across the multi-disciplinary project teams within Personal Care R&D; Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve understanding, approaches and ways of working.
• Apply science expertise to the development and characterisation of new substrate insights and the development of new Beauty & Wellness/Personal Care technologies
• Provide technical expertise
• Design and execute experimental plans
• Report and present key insights, developments and observations
• Provide intellectual input to the programme and make recommendations

• BSc in Cell/Molecular Biology or relevant Biological Science, preferably accompanied with relevant practical experience either in academic or industrial environment.
• Interest and experience in immunology and bioinformatics would be highly desirable but not essential.
• Some experience in assay development/execution would be desirable (particularly western blotting, gene expression and ELISA)
• Proven track record of delivery within academic or industrial environment would be preferable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work both in a team and independently.
• Evidence of ability to develop networks to enable delivery.
