Over the intervening years, CFA has grown to become one of the leading archaeological practices in the UK, operatingout of four thriving offices running up the spine of the country.You will join a friendly but professionally focused and forward- looking team, who strives to work together supporting and encouraging each other to rise to all challenges.The Role:CFA is seeking to appoint an HR Admin Officer to join our Musselburgh team. We are looking for a motivated individual to help provide a range of seamless HR administrative activities to colleagues and external partners, covering the employment lifecycleprocesses, from onboarding, through to training, staff development and engagement, changes to terms and conditions, database and HR system amendments, and leaver arrangements. You will be a sound communicator and team player, with a genuine desire for providingcolleagues and external partners with the best service possible.Responsibilities:As an HR Admin Officer at CFA Archaeology Ltd, you will assist the Director of HR and the administration team in providing a comprehensive HR service to the business, colleagues, and external partners. You will act as a first point of contact for colleaguesand external partners, dealing promptly and effectively with HR related enquiries via telephone, email or in person, while maintaining confidentiality in all matters and adhering to Data Protection legislation.You will be a crucial member of the wider administration and management team with a need for excellent cross-team working and the ability to seek better ways of providing services and internal training and resources to colleagues. This will require you toengage and build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners, ensuring that everyone is treated with kindness, courtesy, dignity, and respect at all times.This role will involve you liaising with CFAs appointed external HR providers to ensure relevant policies, terms and conditions, contracts and other documents are kept up to date and legally compliant. You will also provide appointed external HR consultantswhen appropriate.As part of this role, you will use your initiative to get to the bottom of any HR related issues and resolve problems effectively in collaboration with the Director of HR and senior management team where required. You will also work with the Director ofHR to report on HR and training activity to the Board and contribute to ad hoc projects as part of the HR and Admin teams.Essential Criteria:

  • Be proactive in understanding HR policy and process and take the initiative to develop your knowledge further.
  • Build relationships within the business and wider HR partnerships to develop a greater understanding of how your performance can impact other teams and processes.
  • Have motivation to keep on top of performance support to Managers and staff respectively
  • Have a keen aptitude and drive to develop and explore HR training and knowledge.
  • Will have held a similar role, be self-motivated and proactive, with experience of being part of a diverse team delivering employee focussed outcomes.
  • A good understanding of employment and HR processes.
  • At least 3-5 years experience in a similar role, with a Level 3 CIPD Qualification.
Desirable Criteria:
  • First Aid in the workplace certificated (training provided).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability as a creative problem solver.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Taking ownership of tasks and see them through to resolution, raising issues if timelines become compromised.
  • Work closely with the Director, HR Director and Senior Management Team to build knowledge and share best practice.
