Job Description

Estimator - Residential Construction & Home Extensions£35,000 - £50,000 MusselburghAbout The Company :My Client is a luxury home builder who are based just outside of Musselburgh and are growing to become the best home improvement contractor in Edinburgh and the Lothians. The client specialises in luxury bespoke homes and home extensions and due to recentgrowth are looking for a new ambitious estimator to join the team and grow with the company. This is a predominately office based role but occasional site visits will be required.Main Duties :Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:

  • Creating detailed estimates from drawings.
  • Completing tenders issued by external Architects.
  • Issuing the estimates / tenders to clients / architects.
  • Negotiating with clients / architects to win the projects.
  • Site visits pre-estimate and during construction for variations.
  • Making use of relevant computer software such as Excel, Word, and Autodesk DWG TrueView and any future estimating packages.
  • Update the master rates sheet with real time rates.
Requirements :
  • Proven experience as an Estimator, and extensive knowledge of residential construction.
  • FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE REQUIRED.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop relationships with clients, staff and Directors.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Resilience, determination, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Good numeracy and data analysis skills.
  • Have a practical, logical, and methodical approach to work.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Being open and willing to change
