Job Description

Job Title: Credit ControllerLocation: MusselburghContract: Part time (21 hrs a week)Salary: £27,000 pro rata + Great benefitsAJ Connect is delighted to be retained by our key client Brodies 1867 to appoint a Credit Controller.Brodies, established in 1867 by three enterprising Scottish tea merchants who had a vision to change the tea and coffee industry. In 2007, Brodies became part of the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group. Massimo Zanetti was born in Italy to a family of coffeemerchants, and his mission - to produce and supply great coffee around the world. Brodies teas, coffees and hand-crafted chocolates are now sold through the group to over 40 countries.The role will provide Credit Control activities working closely with the finance team and the rest of the UK businesses.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors.
  • Track ongoing repayments and maintain contact with customers if they move or miss payments.
  • Establish repayment options and schedules for customers based on financial situation and level of debt.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with account contacts and various internal departments
  • Resolving customer queries and disputes related to invoices.
  • Ensuring payment received as per agreements.
  • Creation of excel reports and monthly statements.
  • Perform credit checks on all new accounts.
  • Responsibility for direct debit payments.
Skills and experience
  • Proven credit control experience.
  • Working knowledge of manipulating large data sets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills.
  • Highly organised with a methodical approach and with the ability to manage own workload.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills, an assertive but tactful manner.
  • A team player who integrates easily and communicates positively.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative.
  • Ambitious, seeks to improve personal performance.
