This is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity to join part of a General Practice as a Mental Health Nurse in Primary care. Our current mental health nurse Shelley is emigrating so we are hoping to find someone to continue in this pioneering role.As part of the role you will be required to work autonomously in assessing patients face to face and through telephone consultations within the primary care setting. The assessment is often the first point of contact for patients and it is important to build that positive first contact with Mental Health Services. Using your expert knowledge of mental illness you will be required to independently assess patients and monitor their treatment within primary care. Once you have assessed a patient this case can be discussed directly with one of the GPs and a treatment plan agreed and implemented.
