Further InformationShared Lives Co-ordinatorDo you want to be at the leading edge of adult social care delivery! Shared Lives Northumberland may be looking for you for you! We are a unique care and support service that enables carers to open their own homes to people with an assessed need aged 18+, like foster care. Shared Lives carers share their homes and their lives with people they support either for a short break or as a long-term arrangement. Your role as a coordinator is to recruit, assess and support our carers to achieve the best outcomes for the people they support. We have one full time position (37 hours) and one part time (30 hours) position available.Lorraine is a key player of the team and has worked in her role as a coordinator for 9 years. I respect the work that our carers do. One of the carers I support is Carole, she has been carers for 15 years. Carole told me "It was a huge worry to leave my employment and become a Shared Lives carer, however, for Marilyn, Myself and both of our families, it has turned out well. Supporting Marilyngives me the opportunity to use the skills and experience to create a supportive and caring home life for her and facilitate a wide range of pastimes and opportunities which enhance the quality of both of our lives. I am supported by Lorraine and the team, their support is invaluable, and we have an excellent relationship with the team. I asked Marilyn how she feels about living with my family and she said I like it, its lovely, and I am very happy, I have been on holidaysand now have a voluntary job, which I love".
