Further InformationNorthumberland is a large and varied county containing schools of all types and sizes. We are committed to creating a system of support for all schools which will enable every child to attend a school which is at least good. We are looking to appoint a SchoolGovernance and Data Protection Officer to join the School Governance Team. The team support schools in all aspects of school governance and GDPR.The role entails:-Providing advice and support to all educational professionals to resolve issues relating to governance and related management matters.-Providing strategic advice and guidance on all governance related matters.-Supporting the Local Authoritys role in developing school governing boards to promote high standards in all educational establishments.-Supporting the School Governance Manager in the operation and development of the service within the Service Level Agreements for governor advice, support and development and GDPR.-Assist in the delivery of the School Improvement SLA.-Provide mediation services in the areas of complaints and governor code of conduct issues -Share good practice and provide challenge to support school improvement and encourage autonomy.-Provide advice and support to all educational establishments in relation to GDPR guidance.The post is available for 3 to 5 days per week and extensive training is available.We are offering:-A starting salary between £29,174 to £32,798 (pro rata if part time)-Flexible working (Currently working from home)-Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme-A wide range of staff benefits including a competitive annual leave provisionFor a copy of the job description/person specification please see the supporting documentsFor guidance on completing your application and for information about our Equality and Diversity principles, please check the Northumberland Council Website.We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
