Job Description

REED Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a large and longstanding company who are seeking to employ an experienced Health & Safety professional on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for a skilled candidate who wants to join a businesswho is engaged in manufacturing of various products with an increasing product portfolio.It is vital that risk assessments be conducted and monitored centrally for the company and at present they do not have a person who can take up this complex role forUK sites.Candidates should be educated to degree level to be considered.As Health & Safety Process Lead some of your key duties will include:

  • Ensure a suitable and sufficient system is established and applied to review all process changes from a safety and loss prevention perspective aligned to the company EHS Guidelines. Ensure risk assessments are kept up-to-date and recommend improvementsas required.
  • Establish suitable and sufficient process safety assessment and reviews, utilizing techniques such as HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA etc. covering the UK site operations and leading studies as required.
  • Establish review cycles for ageing plant and ensure maintenance is effective with respect to loss prevention.
  • Monitor the implementation of recommendations and ensure timely completion.
  • Establish review cycles for alarms, to ensure that they are effective and suitable for the application they are used for and for demonstrating compliance against the relevant standards.
  • SME for process safety assessment of new projects, including assessment of study reports related to reactive chemistry and powder safety; responsible for ensuring suitable risk management strategies are implemented.
  • Lead and participate in root cause investigations for safety incidents and near misses to ensure the correct learning points are established, recommend and monitor implementation of identified actions as required, to improve the safe and effectiveoperation of the plant.
  • Work with the site ESH and manufacturing teams to maintain records demonstrating effective compliance against relevant legislation, applicable within the UK.
  • Where required support the vendor screening process for the appointment of third parties in support of PSM programme.
  • Lead the development and embedding of process safety knowledge and expertise across the UK sites.
