Job Description

Do you want to make a difference and change lives Are you a proactive, enthusiastic, and engaging individual If so, we want to hear from you today!Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support an EYFS Class in one of our fantastic Primary Schools in Morpeth, Northumberland.The role is to start in January and will run until the end of the Academic Year in July. For the right candidate, there is a possibility that the role may become permanent. The role is full-time and long-term, 08.30-16.00 Monday to Friday.The role will involve working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.The role will involve supporting the pupils with their learning and communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used that are suited to the individual needs and learning styles of the pupils to allow them to engagewith their learning and make excellent progress.It is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day.This role will involve:

  • Supporting EYFS pupils with their learning and building a positive rapport with the children.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to implement suitable strategies and learning activities.
  • Preparing resources for lessons.
  • Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with pupils.
This role requires:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
  • Ideally a recognised Level 3 Childcare-based qualification, although again, this is not essential.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
