Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Application Engineer to work MONDAY TO FRIDAY DAYS to join an Industry leader in the design, testing, and manufacturing of advanced safety systems, with benefits to include social events, free parking, and annual bonusbased on the Company profits.This Applications Engineer position is a permanent role Woking Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and 8am-2.40pm on Fridays paying an annual salary of £35,000 - £45,000, dependant on experience. As an Application Engineer, you will be working in a small team of 3 reporting to the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting or leading the development of new or existing products.
  • To design, develop and release bespoke safety products (Seatbelts, Buckles, Tie-Downs, Steering Wheels, Airbags) for the customer, on time and to budget
  • Liaise with sales team and customers to gain an understanding of their requirements
  • Assisting with customer visits and technical presentations
  • Supporting the purchasing team to identify and source suppliers and materials
  • Supports other functions such as Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Project Management in order to deliver cost effective solutions and NPI, to meet and exceed customer and regulatory requirements, in a specified timeframe
We are keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and responsibilities
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as an Applications Engineer or similar
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (preferably MEng Mechanical engineering or equivalent)
  • Preferably Lean Six-Sigma trained and experienced
  • Highly proficient use of Solidworks 3D CAD, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle ERP
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing organisation (safety critical products preferred).
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage multiple complex projects, concurrently.
  • Flexibility, as this position requires international travel (approx. 34 per year)
