Job Description

SOFTWARE SYSTEMSENGINEERAs a newly qualified Graduate in automotive, electronics, control or software engineering, combined with a desire to develop software solutions within the fast paced world of automotive design and manufacture, this could be the perfect job role for you. You will be an adaptable automotive enthusiast and talented individual, looking to expand with software and control development skillset. The dynamics of the workplace entertains people with the interest to learn and deploy multiple skills with an active nature ofexpressing the same for variety of projects. It is essential that you either live in Devon, or be willing and able to relocate for this role, and also that you have transport.Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing software solution for automotive system control.
  • Configuring controllers with functionality to perform user required controls.
  • Acquire, apply and continuously improve overall electrical, electronics and software system knowledge relevant to SC Group market sectors, including intelligent system architecture design.
  • Prepare design documentation and relevant material for recording the design and development milestones.
  • Support control development team with innovative ideas.
  • Applying software safety strategies to concepts and support testing equipment setup.
  • Development of design documents and required documents for tasks.
  • Commissioning systems with initial prototyping phases for software versions and manufacturing guide approvals.
Preferred Skills:
  • Early careers with Bachelors or Masters degree in Automotive, electronics, control or software engineering.
  • Apprentices with similar software course or experience.
  • Knowledge and interest in automotive, robotics or intelligent control systems.
  • Team working approach with multitasking capabilities.
  • Programming language experience for C or C++ or Python
  • Experience of autonomous systems in control, sensors or concepts
Working Hours: 40 hour week Monday to Friday (with an early finish of 1pm on a Friday!). This role could be offered on a hybrid basis but will require a minimum of 3 days in the office in a remote location in Devon, so transport is essential.
