Harris Academy Merton is looking to appoint a Premises Assistantwith oversight of grounds maintenance and the cleaning staff.Your opportunityWe are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Academy Site team. The individual will carry out general site maintenance and grounds work & gardening in liaison with their line manager. They will be responsible for the supervision of the Academy cleaning staff, delegating them to appropriate areas andmaintaining high standards of hygiene at all times. They will also be responsible for locking up the site & buildings every evening.Duties will include assisting with grounds work such as grass cutting and sports pitch care, general maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities & ladder work, aswell as general housekeeping duties such as delivering parcels around the Academy andreplenishing consumables in toilets. The ability to work with grounds maintenance machinery, or the willingness to learn, would be an advantage. Keeping the Academy site in excellent order in terms of cleaning standards will also be a requirement.As part of Harris, you will join a community of staff dedicated to transforming education in London. A resilient, highly driven and self-motivated person - willing to go the extra mile

The ability to liaise with outside contractors/agencies when working on site

Experience of grounds work would be an advantage

The ability to supervise cleaning staff to ensure best service to the Academy

A driving licence (desirable)
