Job Description

Speech and Language TherapistWelcome to Foxes Academy, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead. Our aim is to equip our young adults with the life and hospitality skills to become work ready, life ready.The main purposeof the role:As our Speech and Language Therapist, you work as a dynamic speech and language therapist as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the therapy service based at Aurora Foxes Academy. To provide a high standard of speechand language therapy assessment and intervention to young people, including advice and training to relevant parents, carers and professionals in line with proposed treatment plans.Key duties:Duties will vary, you must expect to diversifyand lend a hand wherever is required. Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceQualifications:

  • To be a registered member of RCSLT and HCPC.
  • To hold a professional Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • To workwithin the RCSLT clinical guidelines and HCPC standards.
Experience:
  • Previous experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience in implementing a wide range of approaches in supporting young people with social communication difficulties.
  • Experience of preparing complex reports
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner to a range of audiences including young people, parents, and professionals.
