Job Description

Welcome to Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead. Foxes is a very special place.We believe in changing lives and giving ourstudents the skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully shape their own future. Our aim is to equip our young adults with the life and hospitality skills to become work ready, life ready.The main purpose of the role:As one of our bankMulti-skilled hotel tutors, you will be required to prepare, direct and lead Learning Support Practitioners (LSP) within vocational sessions and actively engage with the students. You will deliver and evaluate inspiring, engaging and individualised sessionsof the highest quality that challenge and stretch ever student working in Foxes Hotel.You will be expected to always promote a professional attitude and approach with the LSPs and students, ensuring that LSPs contribute throughout the session including sessionevaluation and student assessments.Key duties:Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.For the full job description and break down of duties, please contact Adele from the recruitment team Successful candidate qualities:

  • Level 2 in English & Maths
  • City and Guilds Hospitality and CateringLevel 2 or equivalent (Level 3 desirable)
  • Level 4 certificate in Education, equivalent or higher.
  • Experience of working in a hospitality catering setting.
  • Experience in vocational education (desirable).
  • Experience of working in a team setting.
  • Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
  • Allergens knowledge (necessary).
  • Experience of working with young vulnerable adults or children (desirable).
  • Knowledge of assessing skills and knowledge using RARPA and/or accredited qualifications
  • The skills to confidently lead students and LSPs within vocational training
