Stock Operative

Job Description

Simple Recruitment are looking for a Stock Operative for our client based between Bideford and Holsworthy to join them on a temporary basis. This is potentially a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate to join a poultry farm.Key responsibilities:

• Would be looking after 120,000 chickens
• Adhere to Bio Security Procedures across the site
• Take shed readings such as gas, electric, Temperatures, water etc and record on tablets & paperwork
• Monitor feed & Water at the front & back of the unit systematically throughout the day
• To use the feed system correctly and safely and understand spilt food procedure
• Checking Stock & bird welfare
• Weighing Birds, we do this every week to get an accurate reading weighing around 150-200 chickens per week
• Feather Scoring is done intermittently throughout the flock at set dates by the Lion Code
• Be able to run the muck system safely & correctly with training
• Critical reporting of any problems to management in good time to resolve the issues
• Collecting run egg belt collection system for your unit
• Keep and maintain cleanliness daily.

Requirements:

• A team player willing to take and give instruction
• Reliable with good time keeping
• Accurately managing shed records
• This is a hands-on role and requires good organisational and motivational skills
• Flexible with working hours & hard working with a can-do attitude
• Have their own transport
• Experience is preferred however not essential
