PURPOSE To work flexibly across the college and with internal and external stakeholders to provide a comprehensive, impartial careers education, information, advice, and guidance function for theCollege. Lead the Work Experience Development Officers and coordinate industrial placements. Must be willing to work in a collaborative, partnership focused manner to ensure a learner-centred approach to delivering a range of CEIAG interventions at all times including 1:1s, workshops, activities and events. Ensuring CEIAG sessions are aspirational, empowering and enable learners to progress and achieve their goals. DUTIES 1.Champion and promote the college’s careers service to staff, learners and external agencies2.Provide a range of careers interventions throughout the learner journey from enrolment through to supporting progression, including 1:1 personal guidance, group work, workshops, and events.3.Plans a programme of activity in careers guidance4.Supports the Assistant Principal in ensuring the college meets all Gatsby Benchmarks and champions good practice across college and within programme teams.5.Manage and empower the Work Experience Development Officers to enable all learners to engage in industry opportunities.6.Develop and maintain own knowledge of the education and labour market7.Maintain accurate records of all careers interventions and ensure that aspirational, SMART action plans are developed in collaboration with individual learners8.Monitors access and take up of guidance and reports themes and trends to the Assistant Principal9.Record all careers related activity using the appropriate systems including ProMonitor10.Ensure that all learners have ongoing access to their own careers action plans for self-directed career management purposes using the appropriate college systems11.Empower, support and enable learners to make effective, well informed decisions regarding course options, progression pathways and career goals12.To maintain an effective link with curriculum, the work experience development team, external agencies and other support services (internal and external) to ensure that the college careers provision is inclusive for all learners13.To provide high quality careers information, advice and guidance that raises learner awareness of progression routes into employment, training and HE14.To lead on delivering the college’s two year UCAS programme and work with curriculum staff to ensure the UCAS application process runs smoothly15.Support the Assistant Principal in driving forward the number of learners attending the Careers Zones at each campus, implementing relevant interactive activities for learners to enjoy and learn from.16.Supervise learners in the Careers Zones, supporting with activities as required.17.Supervise and support employer visits and talks, particularly in the college’s Careers Zones18.Support the quality assurance process under the direction of the Assistant Principal19.To ensure that College standards are worked to and maintained (e.g.OFSTED, Matrix, Quality in Careers, implementation and achievement of the Gatsby Benchmarks).20.Maintain relevant ongoing continuous professional development including knowledge and application of LMI.21.Ensure all communication with learners and other stakeholders is followed up in a timely fashion and recorded according to college guidelines.22.Attend relevant meetings and staff development activities, and contribute to staff training activities where required and contribute to the development of best practice networks23.To work within the scope of the college’s careers strategy to support the Assistant Principal and wider team to ensure that the Gatsby Benchmarks are embedded into the college’s CEIAG provision24.To liaise with other college staff as appropriate to ensure an integrated approach, maintaining multi-disciplinary boundaries.25.Any other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may be required Required skills
