Role: General Manager / Senior Branch ManagerSector: Building Materials / Plumbing & Heating / MerchantsArea: YorkshirePackage: (Negotiable & D.O.E.) Circa £50,000-£65,000 basic + bonus + carNEW BRANCH OPENING - Planned opening Summer 2022. Appointment of the right person immediate!Our client is a well-respected distributor and manufacturer of building materials into the construction sector, namely plumbing and heating products. Due to continued expansion they are recruiting a Senior Branch Manager / General Manager to oversee theentire opening, launch and development of a brand new site.The business are a £200m turnover operation with Nationwide coverage and part of a larger group. As part of their continued expansion plans they are looking to open a new branch / distribution centre. Nothing is set in stone and everything is fluid rightnow.It is about finding the right person and everything will be built from there. The business could transfer £20m into the branch from day one or look to gradually build the revenue. It really does depend on who is brought in to lead this exicting project.This really is one of the opportunities that rarely come around within the merchants world / construction supplies sector where you can implement ideas, put your stamp on something and take true ownership!

• Lead the search for premises
• Project manage the entire branch opening process - from the racking to signage, to branding to people etc
• Recruit and build a team - scope to become a flagship distribution centre
• £20m+ turnover building materials branch / plumbers merchants
• Strong commercial acumen
• Natural leader and man manager
• Motivation of other Managers
• Working knowledge of the Construction Supplies / Building Materials / Builders Merchants / Plumbing & Heating Supplies
• P&L, stock and service accountability
• Ability to trade in terms of sales and procurement
• Strategic planning / management

This role requires a special someone - a robust Branch Manager from the world of the builders merchants, plumber merchants, construction supplies or specialist distributors of building materials / construction supplies or manufacturers within the Constructionsector.Product knowledge clearly isnt the driver here. It is a Senior Management position where you can build the right team around you.We need a proper General Manager or Senior Branch Manager who can stamp their own authority on the operation and drive the business forward. A strong operational manager who can understand the complexities of running a large builders merchants or plumbersmerchants (or similar) but also someone with the right commerical drive.With the experience of successfully running a large site within the plumbers / builders merchants, building materials / construction supplies distributor, along with a dynamism and drive to always maximise potential. The right person needs the right blendof sales drive with strong operational skills and experience

• Have you experience opening branches
• Are you are Senior Branch Manager within a Builders Merchants / Plumbers Merchants / Timber Merchants / Building Materials Distributor or a manager within the construction supplies sector or a Senior Branch Manager / General within an associated sectorin the Construction sector
• Are you a multi-site, Regional Manager or a Cluster Manager / Business Unit Manager wanting a change
