Job Description

A sector renowned manufacturing company is seeking a Lead Refrigeration Test and Development Engineer to join their manufacturing site in South Yorkshire. As the Lead Refrigeration Test and Development Engineer, you will manage a small team with the responsibilityof testing the companys product range to assist in the future development of the products in line with UK and EMEA regulations.This is a mixed role with hands on testing work and office-based time to raise the relevant documentation and reports.Experience of working in a test / laboratory environment would be highly advantageous.Training will be provided on the products and possibly some time required to be spent in USA initially at the HQ.Benefits:

  • c£33,000 - £39,000 per annum dependent on experience

Key responsibilities of Refrigeration Test and Development Engineer:
  • Main contact for UK and EMEA technical teams for development projects
  • Apply regulatory requirements including WEEE, CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, F-Gas, Energy Labelling, IEC Safety compliance, sustainability awareness and Waste Materials Legislation
  • Collect various test data and supervise any third-party sub-contractors
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of the laboratory and ISO 17025 certification
  • Organise compliance programs (IEC testing with 3rd parties), preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment
  • Beware of potential compliance / regulatory changes and the possible implications
  • Compile in-house compliance reports
  • Declarations of Conformity and maintaining the compliance database
Skills Required of Refrigeration Test and Development Engineer:
  • High level of refrigeration engineeringknowledge
  • At least 5 years experience in a relevant engineering role
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Able to self-organise and prioritise your teams workload
  • Experience with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Travel to the USA for short training periods if required
