Our client is a well-established freight forwarder offering a hands-on approach to all our clients ensuring working partnerships are built and maintained throughout the course of projects and beyond.Our specialist sea freight division offers dedicated LCL (Less than Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) sea freight services to and from Europe, USA, Far East and Middle East as well as expert freight forwarding servicesWe are now recruiting for the Customs Team, an Imports Customs Specialist to handle the sea and Trailer freight customs needs for my client. In this position you will hold ultimate responsibility for the following duties / tasks:- Provide an outstanding level of customer service to both internal & external clients- Handling sea and trailer freight customs clearances using Descartes - Ensure the accurate and timely processing of import customs declarations- Ensure correct payment of duty & VAT- Manage the release of consignments at port- All aspects of CFSP & Customs Warehousing- Manage post clearance actionApplying candidates will possess:- Experience from working for a freight forwarder in an import freight role- A broad understanding of the overall customs process- Knowledge of Import Clearance systems such as Descartes/Chief/ASM/CNS/Destin8/BoxTop - Knowledge of the customs tariff- Excellent communication skills- Strong attention to detail- Exceptional IT skills- Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual- Strong organisational & time management skillsBenefits Salary £26,000 to £32,000 Circa - dependent upon experience Pension 21 days holiday rising with length of service2 Bonuses a Year dependent upon company performance Regular incentives and nights out
