Job Description

Digital Audience and Content EditorMerseysideWere looking for a dynamic digitally-led journalist to take the award-winning Wirral Globe and St Helens Star news brands to the next level online.Working alongside the editor, we are looking for a candidate to motivate, mentor and develop the reporting team to get the very best out of their news stories and support continued audience growth.You will have specific responsibility for driving growth on the Wirral Globe website and its associated social media platforms.The role includes helping with all aspects of our day to day digital production, from developing story ideas and producing content to leading the news agenda and ensuring reporters present their articles in the best possible way.You will be:

  • Full of digital ideas and confident on how to make them sing online
  • Happy mentoring and developing reporters
  • Confident with analytics and SEO and how to use them to maximise digital traffic
  • A master of social and how best to use it
  • A qualified senior reporter or chief reporter looking to make their next step in local journalism
  • Ideally based in Merseyside and able to get out on patch as and when needed
